Gutter Installation and Replacement for Residential Homes

Craftsmanship Backed by Real Reviews

Professional Gutter Installation and Replacement

Gutters are one of the most overlooked components of a home’s exterior, but when they fail, the consequences show up fast. Water that overflows or drains improperly can erode foundation plantings, saturate the soil around your foundation, seep into basements, rot fascia boards, and stain siding. JACK Contracting installs seamless gutters and full gutter systems that move water efficiently away from your home and keep your foundation and exterior protected year after year.

We install seamless aluminum gutters in a range of sizes and profiles, custom-formed on site to fit your roofline exactly. Seamless construction eliminates the joints and seams found in sectional gutters, which are the most common points of failure and leaking. Every installation includes proper pitch for drainage, securely spaced hangers, and downspouts positioned to direct water well away from the foundation.

Installation, Replacement, and Gutter Guard Options

In addition to full gutter installation and replacement, JACK Contracting offers gutter guard installation for homeowners who want to reduce the frequency of cleaning and prevent debris accumulation in the gutter channel. Gutter guards are particularly valuable on homes surrounded by mature trees where leaves, seeds, and debris collect quickly and can block drainage during rain events.

When replacing an existing gutter system, we remove the old gutters and inspect the fascia boards beneath them for rot or damage before installing the new system. Fascia in poor condition is replaced as part of the project so the new gutters have a solid, stable mounting surface. Downspout extensions and underground drainage connections can also be added to route water further from the foundation in areas where drainage is a concern.

Why Your Gutter System Matters More Than You Think

Most homeowners do not think about their gutters until something goes wrong, and by that point the damage is often already done. Saturated soil around a foundation creates conditions for settling, cracking, and basement water intrusion. Water running behind deteriorated gutters and down the fascia can rot the trim and work its way into the wall cavity. These are expensive problems that start with a gutter system that is not doing its job.

A properly installed gutter system is a long-term protective investment for your entire home. JACK Contracting installs systems built to handle the rainfall volumes common in Northern Virginia, including the heavy downpours that can overwhelm undersized or clogged gutters. If you are not sure whether your current gutters are adequate or in good condition, we can inspect the system and give you an honest assessment of what needs to be done.

What Homeowners Ask About Gutter Installation

What is the difference between seamless and sectional gutters?
Sectional gutters are assembled from pre-cut pieces joined with connectors at regular intervals. Those joints are the most common failure points and sources of leaking. Seamless gutters are formed from a single continuous piece of material cut to the exact length of each run, eliminating most joints and significantly reducing the chance of leaks over time.
Most residential homes use five-inch K-style gutters, which handle the majority of typical rainfall conditions well. Homes with large roof surfaces, steep pitches, or high annual rainfall may benefit from six-inch gutters with larger downspouts. We assess the roof surface area and drainage requirements during the estimate to recommend the right sizing for your specific home.
Quality gutter guards reduce cleaning frequency and prevent most debris from accumulating in the channel. They are not entirely maintenance-free, but they significantly reduce the workload and the risk of clogs during heavy leaf fall. The effectiveness varies by product design and the types of debris present around your home, and we will be honest about what to expect from any product we recommend.
At minimum, gutters should be cleaned twice a year in most climates, in the spring and fall. Homes surrounded by heavy tree cover may need cleaning three or four times annually. Clogged gutters during a heavy rain can overflow and direct water toward the foundation, exactly the problem gutters are designed to prevent.
Most residential gutter replacement projects are completed in a single day. Larger homes or those with more complex rooflines may take a bit longer. We will give you a clear timeline during the estimate.
We can repair specific sections of an existing gutter system, including resealing joints, replacing damaged sections, or repositioning gutters that have pulled away from the fascia. Whether repair or replacement makes more sense depends on the age and overall condition of the system, and we will give you an honest recommendation either way.
