Entry and Exterior Door Replacement for Your Home

Craftsmanship Backed by Real Reviews

Exterior Door Replacement That Delivers Security, Efficiency, and Curb Appeal

Your front door is one of the first things people notice about your home, and it is one of the most used and most exposed components in the entire structure. A door that is difficult to open, drafty, outdated, or damaged affects your home’s security, comfort, and energy efficiency every single day. JACK Contracting installs replacement exterior doors for homeowners who want a professional result that looks great, operates smoothly, and holds up for years to come.

We work with entry doors, back doors, French doors, patio doors, and storm doors across a wide range of styles and materials. Whether you are replacing a single front door or updating multiple exterior access points, our team handles the full installation from removal of the old door and frame through proper sealing, shimming, hardware installation, and trim work. You get a finished result on day one, not a project that drags out over multiple visits.

Choosing the Right Door for Your Home

The three most common materials for residential exterior doors are steel, fiberglass, and wood, each with different advantages depending on your priorities. Steel doors offer strong security at an accessible price point and hold up well in high-traffic applications. Fiberglass doors replicate the look of wood grain without the maintenance demands and provide excellent thermal performance in all four seasons. Wood doors offer a classic aesthetic and can be stained or painted to match any exterior, though they require more upkeep than the alternatives.

JACK Contracting helps you evaluate the options based on your home’s style, your security and efficiency goals, and your budget. We also assist with hardware selection, including handlesets, deadbolts, hinges, and smart lock options, so your new door is complete and functional in every detail. Our installation process includes proper weatherstripping, threshold adjustment, and sill pan flashing to eliminate drafts and keep water out of the rough opening.

A Properly Installed Door Changes the Feel of Your Home

A door that is properly installed operates smoothly from day one. It closes with authority, latches without forcing, seals tightly against the elements, and aligns correctly in the frame without gaps or binding. Homeowners who have been living with a poorly hung or aging door often describe the difference after a professional installation as immediately noticeable, not just visually but in how the whole entry functions.

JACK Contracting treats door installation with the precision it demands. We ensure the rough opening is properly prepared, the frame is level and plumb, and all flashing and sealants are applied correctly before the door is hung. Interior and exterior trim is reset or replaced as part of the installation so the project is complete when we leave. We take pride in the kind of craftsmanship that you notice every time you walk through the door.

READY TO PROTECT YOUR HOME?

JACK Contracting brings military discipline into every project; clear communication, high standards, and respect for your home. We take our responsibility seriously and make the process simple, transparent, and stress-free from start to finish.

What Homeowners Ask About Exterior Door Replacement

How do I know if my exterior door needs to be replaced?
Common indicators include visible gaps between the door and frame that let in light or air, difficulty latching or locking, drafts around the frame, moisture damage to the door or surrounding trim, or a door that has become functionally or aesthetically outdated. Any of these are worth addressing, as they affect security, energy efficiency, and the overall character of your home.
In some cases, yes. If the existing frame is structurally sound and properly aligned, replacing the slab alone is an option. However, many older frames have shifted over time or have hidden moisture damage, and replacing the full pre-hung unit is often the better long-term choice. We will evaluate your existing installation and give you an honest recommendation.
Most single exterior door replacements are completed in a half day to one full day. More complex installations involving sidelites, transoms, or multiple door units may take longer. We will give you a realistic timeline during the estimate process.
Yes. We install a range of exterior door configurations including single entry doors, French door pairs, sliding patio doors, and doors with sidelite and transom combinations. We will help you choose the configuration that works best for the opening and the function of the space.
We can assist with a full range of hardware selections including handlesets, deadbolts, hinges, door sweeps, and smart lock systems. If you already have hardware you want to use, we can accommodate that as well.
Yes. Our installation includes re-setting interior and exterior casing and trim so the door is fully finished when we leave. We do not leave rough or unfinished openings for the homeowner to complete separately.
